Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. They're so helpful in picking out plants, the plants all have clear labeling (esp helpful for pet owners), so much fun stuff to look at, and overall a very very cozy vibe

This shop is such a gem! The prices are very reasonable, and I love that it’s a smaller space packed with an incredible variety of plantsβ€”many of them from Asia. I’ve visited several times and have brought home a few plants with me. My snake plant is especially gorgeousβ€”lush, vibrant, and incredibly healthy. The N’Joy pothos, money tree and money plant I purchased are just as beautiful, too! The only small downside is that the shop is a bit tight, so some of the plants can get squished. Because of that, it sometimes take a little extra time to find one without minor damage. That said, Ellen (who I assume is the owner) was incredibly understanding when I asked about exchanging a plant and happily picked out a healthy, thriving replacement. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, and always a pleasure to talk with. Her dad, Bill, is just as kind. You can really feel the family atmosphere here, and that’s part of what makes this place so special. I absolutely love supporting this family-owned plant shop!

Qideas is one of my absolute favorite places to visit here in Chicago. It’s an amazing, local family-owned and operated plant store and more! Ellen and her dad are both the sweetest and most knowledgeable. They are the heart and soul of Asia on Argyle, and care so much for this beautiful community. You can just feel the love and joy this place has for the local community, for the Vietnamese and Asian American diaspora, and for their culture. My aunties bought me a Calamansi tree here for the opening of my Chiropractic and Acupuncture clinic, and Ellen was an absolute gem. She gave me very clear care instructions, make sure I had everything I needed to home this plant, and told me to reach out if I have any questions or have any issues with it acclimating to its new home. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Beautiful shop, deeply kind owners. Located right by argyle red line, would recommend going inside even just to visit and look around. Their plants are beautiful and well cared for. Prices are fair and reflect the quality of the items. I wound up picking up a children’s book about Filipino sign language, but will definitely be back once it’s warmer for some plants. Rest in peace sweet Coco and Happy, I wish I got to meet you!

Lovely plant shop. They were incredibly helpful helping me pick out an appropriate indoor plant. The entire shop is filled with amazing cards and knickknacks that are so worth slowly exploring. I stumbled upon this shop, but I’ll definitely be back soon :)
